Twin flames are a profound example of love. They are very heart-based, connecting to the soul in unique ways that are very different than soulmate and karmic love. The twin flame connection can be an intense and dramatic one depending on the circumstances. This is why there have been a number of movies that depict them well.
I will try not to spoil the movies in case anyone hasn't seen them, but will talk enough about them to illustrate the twin flame parallels.
Rose and Jack, Titanic
Twins are often faced with overcoming some type of obstacle. For Rose and Jack, even if they hadn't met aboard the Titanic, they came from two very different worlds. They were aware of the difficulties this placed on them as if being pursued and shot at by Cal wasn't evidence enough. I don’t think he would have let them live happily ever after had they all miraculously survived the Titanic's sinking.
Rose and Jack’s obstacle may or may not have been tackled, we will never know. Yet, notice how Rose's life changed forever and for the good. She said Jack saved her, I like to think he opened her eyes. He helped her remember who she really was. That is exactly what a twin is meant to do.
