Strawberry Hill, a hidden treasure

Growing up in San Francisco I lived only blocks away from Golden Gate Park. My dad always said it was our backyard and that was true.

If we wanted to ride bikes or roller skate, Golden Gate Park offered countless stretches of fun places to explore.

One of our favorite places to go in the park is located at Stow Lake. In the middle of the lake after crossing a bridge there is a waterfall.

And if you climb up the stairs that are on either side of the waterfall, up, up,up, at the very top you will find Strawberry Hill. (It’s a bit of a hike, which is why it’s hidden)

Home of many butterflies! There are massive trees on top of the hill and plenty of foliage for the butterflies to fly around in. The place is called Strawberry Hill for the wild strawberries that once grew here.
