I am so sorry you had to give Mickey up, it sounds like you did it out of love and true compassion for his well-being.

I've learned from doing pet readings that our pets can sense a great deal beyond what we think they can, they have a strong connection to us and somehow know.

Mickey knows you love him, and that you did not want to leave him, and he doesn't judge you, he forgives you. He senses what you did was out of love and care.
