Hi Trisha! It sounds like you are doing a great job with your angels, and they are guides! I find them to be some of the easiest guides to hear or sense. They are hard workers too.

I would continue working with signs as a starting point, its easier than meditation for communication. The mind can get in the way still, but a sign usually comes with a stand out quality, something that really lets you know it is from a guide.

Besides angels, your spirit guide can be a useful guide. It's okay if you don't know who yours is, just use the title Spirit Guide, and ask yours to send you a sign. As you tune in you may get some information about them, gender, name, something like that. Trust what you get and don't over analyze it. Most of all have fun with it :)
