How My Guides Helped Me Rescue My Cat
Guides are ready and willing to help us in matters big and small
Last week we had a series of storms come through our area and high winds took a tree down in our backyard. A few days later we had a tree removal service come out to remove the massive tree.
While they were at it, we opted to have some overgrowth removed from the front yard and roof as well. Meaning the crew was here for two days. They made a lot of noise. On day one it was mainly in the front, chainsaws hummed continuously for about five hours.
Day two was worse as far as sounds go. The chainsaws were back but now they were on the roof and dragging large limbs that clawed the side of the house making unearthly sounds.
Imagine being a cat, not knowing what these sounds were or when they would stop, if ever.
Cara, our cat, ran to what she thought was safety, a back bedroom, burying herself deep between storage boxes. She wouldn't come out no matter how much we coaxed her or offered her treats. Food was the last thing on her mind.
This particular room was off-limits because our other cat spends most of her time there. The stress levels were high, she had to get out, but the realization that she might be in there for days was sinking in. Cara had a…
