The word narcissist is overused. This is due to the misunderstanding of what a narcissist actually is. While most of us have heard the term, we aren't always clear about what it is exactly and what it’s like to deal with a narcissist.
On the other hand, I have seen people that are dealing with a full-blown narcissist and do not recognize it, because they aren't familiar enough with their tactics.
What is a narcissist?
It’s important to understand that narcissism falls on a spectrum. Anyone can be a little narcissistic. It’s when the spectrum gets tipped the other way that there can be some major challenges. The most extreme is someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
A narcissist can be a parent/family member, friend, neighbor, or boss, but in this article, I am focusing on being in a romantic relationship with a narcissist.
